General competence
- Develop an understanding of another country's culture in general and music education in particular.
Knowledge
- Put their performing activities into an international perspective, recognize and reflect on music traditions from different parts of the world and be able to put these in a geographical, historical and stylistic perspective.
Skills
- Exchange stays shall enable the student to be part of international social networks, handle practical living and study conditions abroad and strengthen language knowledge.
- Plan and perform a public concert within the framework of the partner institution for interaction, such as chamber music, orchestral work, ensembles, soloist performance, etc.
- Conduct artistic dissemination in an international environment and engage in relevant performing practices

The programme will take place at another educational institution and will follow the study plan of the place of study. Minimum requirements for approval of external exams will follow the teacher's instructions within the framework of relevant regulations, and the exam must be a performing exam of at least 25 minutes.
Coursework requirements
The student is obliged to comply with the mandatory work requirements and comply with the current rules at the place of study.
100% compulsory attendance for teaching and compulsory participation in projects and concerts, the Master Forums included.

The work and teaching methods will vary from place to place, but in general, teaching in the main instrument will normally include one-on-one teaching with close follow-up and master classes, as well as ensemble/chamber music.
Incoming students are assigned a supervisor at UiS, who follows up on their work during their stay abroad.
Students are expected to attend all of the Master Forums.
