Professor Muk Chen Ong and researcher Marek Janocha at the Department of Mechanical and Structural Engineering and Materials Science at UiS have received funding for a Polish-Norwegian project aimed at developing bilateral research collaboration.

The “Polish-Norwegian sustainable research, development and innovation partnerships in the field of offshore renewable energy technologies (OFFSHORE)” project has a budget of 250,000 euros (around NOK 3 million) and is scheduled for 12 months. It is coordinated by a Polish RTO Technology Partners, in collaboration with Marin Energi, Rosenberg Worley and the Polish Cluster of Composite Technologies.

The purpose of the collaboration is exchange and sharing of knowledge and technology between the Norwegian and Polish partners. The project will particularly focus on two main areas:

  • Renewable energy production, where the Norwegian partners develop innovative solutions.
  • Extending the lifetime of offshore installations.

The project lasts one year, until March 2024.
