The article "Improved Delayed Detached Eddy Simulations of Flow past an Autonomous Underwater Helicopter" by Zhikun Wang, Guang Yin, Muk Chen Ong and Ying Chen was chosen as a Featured Article in PoF, Volume 35, Issue 7, July 2023.Read the full text here: https://pubs.aip.org/aip/pof/article/35/7/075144/2903762/Improved-delayed-detached-eddy-simulations-of-flow?searchresult=1
The hydrodynamic properties of a disk-shaped autonomous underwater helicopter (AUH) were investigated thoroughly in the article. The flow features around the AUH are shown in the figure below. This AUH can move horizontally and vertically in the water to perform environmental monitoring, deep-sea seabed survey and subsea pipeline inspection.
The article is also highlighted in Scilight (Science Highlight) of AIP Publishing and a short description can be found via the link: https://pubs.aip.org/aip/sci/article/2023/29/291117/2903753/The-hydrodynamic-properties-of-an-autonomous?searchresult=1
