Content

This course is a practical training course where the the student participates in a professional environment outside the university, for instance in a company or as part of a larger, approved student project such as Ion Racing/Drillbotics. A suitable position or project must be found by the student. Student projects must be agreed with the responsible staff for the student project. The intention of the course is to give the student practical experience and to enable immersion into selected topics connected to the company's practice. An agreement between the university and the company, describing tasks and supervision has to be signed.

Required prerequisite knowledge

At least 40 ECTS must be completed according to the approved education plan.

A signed contract must be delivered by September 1. The student must submit a critically reflective report (incl. signed timesheet) on their practical training. If several students work in the same company with similar tasks they can deliver a joint report (up to 3 students). There will also be a conversation about the status in the middle of the training period.Scope of work: The student must spend 250 - 300 working hours on the course in total. The student must submit a signed timesheet together with the report.No re-sit opportunities are offered for the report. Students who do not pass the report can retake it the next time the course is held. NOTE: According to Regulations relating to studies and examinations at the University of Stavanger section 3-10 point 2, a student has 2 attempts in this course, with the opportunity to apply for a 3rd attempt.

Course assessment

There must be an early dialogue between the course supervisor, the student union representative and the students. The purpose is feedback from the students for changes and adjustments in the course for the current semester.In addition, a digital subject evaluation must be carried out at least every three years. Its purpose is to gather the students experiences with the course.
