Why did you choose to study Business Administration?

During my bachelor's, I realized I was an individual who was more inclined towards right-brain philosophy. I was good at completing tasks in creative ways with a smart, proactive approach and always had an urge to see things from a different perspective. Soon, after working for one year in the industry, I realized how fast the firms are evolving globally, so I decided to equip myself with problem-solving skills and gain industry-based knowledge. It was a critical decision for my career, and I felt it was the right time to accomplish my lifelong dream of studying abroad.

Why did you choose Stavanger and UiS Business School?

I had other offers from different regions of Europe, but Norway was my priority because of free education and my love for nature. After thorough research, the University of Stavanger ticked all the boxes for an appropriate international master's program with several specialisation options. I randomly looked for the campus view on google earth, and at that moment, I felt an instant connection with this place that made my decision way easier. Apart from that, the city surroundings and weather conditions were ideal. After coming here, I patted myself on the shoulder since I had made a great decision.

Why did you choose your specialisation?

I chose UiS Business School because of its offered specializations. As my academic and professional career revolves around digital marketing and I wanted to upgrade my skillset in this domain, I opted for this specialization. On top of that, to diversify my portfolio, I had the option to make a combination of minors and majors, which made it a whole bundle of a deal for me since I wanted to diversify my pool of knowledge.

How does a typical day at UiS look for you?

A typical day at UiS starts with entering campus, riding on my electric cycle, and embracing the beautiful nature and serene environment, followed by the meeting scheduled with group members. We sit together and share laughs, creative ideas, and productive arguments. These discussions help us to resolve complex problems efficiently. After these group works and lectures, I walk through the corridors and hallways of UiS to let in some motivation from the surroundings, as students are studying and socializing, which motivates me to do the same. Then after the mid-day, I mostly join events and hackathons organized by MinSiS and . And being a part of Lyspæren, UiS ingenious and StartUiS, I organize events for students to socialize and share innovative ideas; I work on projects based on sustainability to make the UiS an ideal place for learning.

Do you have any particular memories from your time here til now?

It is pretty tricky to answer since I have experienced so many unforgettable memories, pleasant events, and social interactions that groomed me in a way that makes me feel so full of energy on gloomy winter days. One of my greatest memories that I can remember was when I was recording cinematic shots of UiS with my drone during the cold winters, and my fingers froze while using the remote control. Those cold winds gave me a tough time; however, after that day, I observed a series of related events that happened simultaneously and led me through many adventurous moments that played a vital role in raising my confidence.

Do you have any advice for future students?

Being an international student, you should prepare yourself for all those inevitable difficulties pushing you out of your comfort zone. Still, those difficulties are imperative for your practical life. Embracing all these changes will allow you to become a better version of yourself. It is you who will decide either to watch Netflix in your dorm or go outside and experience what is happening in the real world. I have seen dreams come true, and I do believe in them. Study smart, invest your spare time in creative activities, socialize with people, learn from their experiences, and share your stories. Live life to the fullest whilst at the University of Stavanger; as I can assure you, studying here is a life-changing experience.
