Information about the university
UCAM is a private Catholic university and has around 16,000 students. It welcomes about 300 Erasmus students every year. The campus is located at the Jerónimos Monastery, which encompasses modern infrastructure and professionally equipped scientific laboratories of the highest quality. It comprises a total of 8 faculties (Faculty of Business and Legal Studies, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and a Polytechnic School).
The University of Stavanger has an Erasmus agreement with the Faculty of Nursing.

Som praksisstudent kommer du i nærkontakt med mange ulike mennesker i ulike situasjoner, og vi anbefaler vaksinering for hepatitt A og hepatitt B. Merk at hele vaksinasjonsprosessen (Hep B) kan ta opptil 6 måneder. En grunnvaksinering med tre doser fordelt på ½ år gir vanligvis livslang beskyttelse.

Norske statsborgere med lån eller stipend Lånekassen er automatisk medlem av Folketrygden. Folketrygdens stønadssystem gir i mange tilfeller ikke fullgod dekning. Du vil for eksempel ikke få dekket hjemtransport ved sykdom. Du har heller ingen ansvarsforsikring for skade som du påfører andre og du vil heller ikke få noen menerstatning dersom du skader deg utenfor undervisningstiden.
Studenter kan tegne en utvidet ansvarsforsikring som er spesielt rettet mot sykepleiestudenter som deltar på praksisopphold i utlandet.
